Lazy G BBQ Company in Cedar Park is exactly what it sounds like: lazy. For a BBQ joint in Texas, where the standard is high, this place is embarrassingly bad. Rudy’s BBQ should be the baseline, yet Lazy G doesn’t even reach that. I ordered the ribs and brisket, hoping for something decent, but both were far below average. The brisket was especially disappointing—you could see the congealed fat right in the slices (see pictures). Serving meat at the right temperature is BBQ 101, and their failure here made the texture and flavor a cold, greasy mess.

The sides weren’t any better. The cucumber salad was bland, with just a dusting of dill and no seasoning whatsoever. Adding salt and vinegar should be a no-brainer, but apparently, even the basics were too much effort here. I was excited to try the smoked mushroom side (as a mushroom lover), but it was downright unpleasant. There was zero smokiness, and the sauce tasted like a watered-down BBQ sauce, giving the button mushrooms a soggy, unappetizing texture.

The BBQ sauce was another letdown—it tasted like bottled Sweet Baby Ray’s. For a BBQ place, using (or at least mimicking) store-bought sauce is the ultimate red flag that they just don’t care. Even at $22 for a two-meat plate, the quality doesn’t justify the price.

In short, Lazy G BBQ Company doesn’t just fall short—it doesn’t even try. If their goal was to live up to their name, they succeeded; this food is lazy, uninspired, and, frankly, not worth your time or money.

Fantastic food prepared to perfection in a great outdoor setting at the Good Lot. It's a great place to bring a group to have a beer and some amazing BBQ and at some Cornhole. The brisket, smoked turkey, sausages and the mushrooms and Mac and cheese are all flawless. Some of the best brisket I have ever had.

The bark on the brisket was SO tasty, so I was very surprised that the brisket itself, though tender enough to pull apart pretty easily, was incredibly dry. Perhaps pre sliced or sitting out too long? I did come eat in mid afternoon

The sides were also nothing to write home about

Overall a pretty average experience, was hoping for a little more wow factor to make the trip from ATX worth it

I just ate here an hour ago and it was amazing! Got the brisket, ribs, with Cajun rice, mushrooms, and Mac and cheese. Meat was tender, moist, with plenty of flavor! Best ribs I've ever had. The rice was soooo good. Bill made us feel welcomed and was very polite. Made us feel like we were eating lunch at a friend's. Will definitely return and also bring out of town friends to try out this phenomenal BBQ joint.

The guys are super friendly. We tried their ribs which were very good, and the smoked Burger which was awesome. The burger appears to use homemade pickles which were super tasty and a great complement to the burger. Loved the smoked mushrooms too. They are tangy and sweet, and the bacon they pair with them really work well with the smoke on the mushroom. Really a great side dish!

This place is by far one of the best bbq places I’ve been to and I am a Texas native. Definitely needs more hype! Brisket was super tender perfect flavor. I love how the bbq sauce and pockles are homemade also Don’t sleep on the Mushrooms they were awesome! What makes it even better is the service and friendliness 10/10 would recommend!

Absolutely killer all around. Ribs cooked to perfection, amazing bark on their brisket and pork stomach, the burger was DIVINE and all the sides were stellar. The brisket patty melt was so good that we didn't get a photo before it got devoured ?
