Horrible costumer service. When to buy some aloe Vera and the cashier gave us a completely different price, I told her that, the price wasn’t right and she was so confrontational about the whole situation and created a whole scene in front of other customers. She didn’t even great us at all. She was wearing glasses, blue face mask, had dog paw prints tattoos on her neck.

This is my go to store as it is handy and in my neighborhood. But for the past several weeks I have noticed that thier produce is very shabby and poorly stocked. Try to find potatoes not rotten or bruised badly, onions that have not gone to seed, or precut veg not slimy. The last straw tonight was a bag of celery I purchased to make soup when opened was molded. Does no one check these things? Tired of money going to spoiled items!

Update 1/14/25: not one mostake on my receipt! And the produce was plentiful and beautiful.

This is my neighborhood go to grocery store. It's always stocked well, clean, and most of the clerks are very friendly. The only reason I give it three stars is because I have yet to not have to go to the customer service desk because I am overcharged for an item or more. It will be displayed at one price and always is overcharged, never undercharged. It's gotten to the point where I will not leave the store until I look at my receipt.

What's with the ID policy for buying wine here?

First of all, I'm 59 years old and haven't been asked to show ID in Bend, Portland, or anywhere else in Oregon (or the US, for that matter) in years, be it a bar, a liquor store or a supermarket.

But Safeway insists that I show an ID, and when I show my UK driving license, since I'm from the UK, they won't accept it as a form of identification. So I can rent a car or board a domestic flight with that ID, but this Safeway decides it's not 'legitimate'? Even though I used it at Safeway in Portland two days ago?

Who makes this stuff up? And what a horrible place it must be to work when the employer deems their employees too stupid to use their own judgement and common sense.

So I walked across the parking lot to Whole Foods and spent my $150 on wine there. No ID required. Oh, and then called in at the liquor store on the next block to pick up some bourbon for a friend. No ID required.

Safeway really needs to rethink this ridiculous policy.

Most good discounts now are fake. 3rd time in the last month. And many more for the year. Even the non-discount price is false. Then when asked: ‘oh it’ll show up when we’re done’ - it doesn’t. They continue duping customers with the same false member discount(s) after being confronted. Not blaming the employees at the register, some have been there as long as I’ve gone, and this is really out of character. It’s really gone downhill fast though, shopped here for over 10 years. I’m done with Safeway. Especially this store.

My favorite safeway..only flaw was that they completely ran out of eggs...My true secret weapon in keeping my brain properly fed and cared for!!! I ALSO get impatient if I have to wait to get my trusty Silk almond drink down from top shelf in refrigerated case..it is another vital brain and body booster as it mates to make Everything creamier and more appealing from " soups" to my faux French souffle..and that size gives more savings..Also I vowed to make friends with their challenging ( mercurial ?!!) App..often exhausting to point of near tears..but saving grace is that their Staff Always stop to see how and why it is vexing my efforts! I would cannonize their Lead Prince of Produce Who is happy Always! To answer my questions..and check in back for my elusive vital veggie of the week..You may have guessed I'm on a strict regimen to truely feed my Brain ( seriously Dr.s Orders) and out fox My Sugar- craving easily distracted Nature..while making every penny count..allways!...and where else can I play ice cream ( real AND faux non dairy etc )roulette. To try to score Talenti 's exquisite exotic Gelato flavors or Oatly's minty treats as they always have One flying off freezer shelves for under 4 dollars..Nice People working there..clean well lit store..bathroom& Friendly Pharmacy too!
