This place was definitely a cool spot, lots of interesting art and little buildings.
My partner and I stayed her for 3 nights in April - I don't know if it's because the hostel wasn't yet prepared for visitors - as it seemed like nothing had been done there since last summer - but there was absolutely nothing there for visitors. By that I mean it is the first hostel I have ever stayed at that didn't have coffee or tea, cream or sugar for guests, not even a coffee maker. The first hostel I've ever stayed at that didn't offer even a simple complimentary breakfast like toast or oatmeal - there is nothing for guests. There is a bistro attached to the hostel and unless you brought your own food then you are basically forced to get coffee and breakfast there which is expensive but the whole island is expensive which is expected especially these days. Anyways, other than having the entire place to ourselves due to it being early in the tourist season, I would not recommend. It is also the most expensive hostel I've ever stayed at with nothing included, even AirBnBs offer more than this place. Our bed was also broken and we proped it up with hardcover books..... there is also no one around to talk to about anything you may have questions or concerns about - no hostel staff.

All in all, this is a old, quirky guesthouse. Not a hostel.

Wonderful, if somewhat ramshackle hostel. Amazing value for money. Great cafe for breakfast and lunch. Nice property. sleeping in comfy shacks, trailers, towers. Little rooms in a big garden/yard. Shared washrooms inside the main house where there's a shared kitchen. Walking distance to the VI ferry. Shared washrooms. would absolutely an enthusiastically visit again.

This has become my favorite spot on earth because of the owners. The guesthouse is definitely the heart beat of Denman.
They're all gracious happy friendly people who welcome you to share their space.
They work hard, everyday with the needs of their community in the forefront of their minds.
The food and local music consistently aspire to a divine melding of talent and appreciation.

Super sweet little hippie hostel. I felt like living in my grandmas farm house.
Cute little rustic rooms.
Well equipped kitchen and clean bathrooms and toilets!
There is a little restaurant/shop for food and souvenirs.
The supermarket is in 5 minutes walking distance and a little restaurant for pizza or fries, which was not too expensive.
While we were there there was even life music at the hostel which was really nice !

The prize is super cheap and the Bus and the ferry are really close!
The bus is for free and can bed stopped at the roat.
The house lady gives good advices on what to do !!

Close by there is a free give away cloths shelter and a vegan ice cream place.

We discovered the island by foot and found some nice lakes and trails on the way!

I can just highly be recommend that hostel and the island !!

Great little place for a nice snack or meal. Super relaxed ambience with quite a free options for sitting in or out. Little rooms and nooks. Great servers and people who love what they are doing.

Really enjoyed the spot as a first-time visitor to Denman Island and great to know that there is somewhere open on Sunday.

Lunch for me was the veggie hash and it was incredibly fresh with vegetables that are actually cooked just right with all their color and flavor intact (thank you!). Came with a nice helping of diced fried potatoes mixed in.

I also had the standard decaf and it was pretty average drip, don't recommend. But they do have a wide assortment of coffees, teas and beverages to choose from. Saw a wonderfully pink smoothie going by in a mason jar and lots of happy people at the next table.

Amazing brownies and if you get there and they have pie, don't hesitate, just buy it!

Ah yes, the classical guest house that we on Denman Island know all too well and love. The accommodations are plentiful, with everything you need offered or available to you during your stay. The food here is absolutely wonderful, there is no way to describe how well made and tasty it all is without trying for yourself. Also accompanying you during your stay, the staff here are more than able and willing to provide you with any restaurant, room rental and entertainment service you may need along with providing a very comfortable and hospitable atmosphere that makes you feel more at home.

My rating is a 5/5, I recommend this place to anyone who is temporarily staying on Denman and may need a place to stay or just buy food and hang out.

Super Hippie place. Cabin style. Rustic style. Wonderful selection of herbal teas that seem to be made by them. We stopped for a bite and had a breakfast wrap, and a breakfast bagel. Both were wonderful, and we would definitely go back for more ! Quirky place, incredibly friendly staff. So much to look at, so much to eat and drink. This will be a stop for us anytime we travel here. I didn't use the washrooms so I'm unsure of their cleanliness or usefulness.
This place is good on recycling, it's a "clear your own table" place, food scraps used for chickens etc.
While you wait for food they have little things to look at and purchase if you want. 🙂
